Description - EN 1.4512 Stainless Steel Muffler. This muffler is made of high-quality EN 1.4512 (X2CrTi12) stainless steel, a standard material used by automotive manufacturers for exhaust system components. Material used in the production of exhaust system components. Why is the muffler attracted to magnets? EN 1.4512 steel is ferritic, therefore it has ferromagnetic properties – it attracts magnets. This is a natural characteristic of this material and does not indicate the use of ordinary carbon steel. Natural discoloration during operation. The muffler reaches high temperatures during operation, which can cause natural oxidation of the material's surface. As a result, discoloration may appear in shades of: gold • brown • bluish • gray. This is typical of stainless steel used in exhaust systems and does not affect the durability, performance, or quality of the product. Similar changes in appearance also occur in original exhaust systems installed by vehicle manufacturers.
